I suffered a stroke on Friday, June 20, 2014 at work at the Savannah River Site. I didn't feel anything different at my desk. A coworker came into my cubicle and he noticed that my monitor was dark and my hands were above the keyboard without typing. I was speaking garbled some new language. A few other workers came into the cubicle. I was put onto a stretcher and wheeled to the ambulance in the parking lot. I carefully was loaded into the ambulance and watched through the rear window my trip through SRS and the roads taking to University Hospital. There were some exams at University Hospital. I was then taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital were I was admitted for further exams. I don't remember much talking that day.

On the first night, I was in an stoke unit with hourly monitoring. Doctors and therapists saw me on Saturday and decided to moved me to a wing for less critical stroke and brain injuries. I had a nice dinner and my wife and son to talked with me. We watched Men In Black II on TV and I understood the dialogue.

This page will have more about my initial experience and other writing about me getting better.
